DEBBIE GATT
Debbie Gatt first became interested in First Aid during her time at the Girl Guides, and her accident-prone sister provided plenty of opportunities for Debbie to practice her skills! Debbie later went on to train and serve with the Emergency Fire and Rescue Unit, becoming a First Aid instructor and coordinator.
Now she is a First Aid instructor and First Aider with Emergency Malta, the leading private emergency ambulance company in Malta.
Debbie is passionate about helping parents learn how to recognise when their children or family members need First Aid intervention and how to administer it safely and effectively.
"Eventhough I am not a parent myself, I am an aunt, a social worker and a child/parents support, so my interaction with children is almost on a daily basis. My place of work had offered a generic first aid course but although that gave me a better understanding of how to handle emergency situations, I felt the need to have an in-person paediatric first aid course for better knowledge on issues related to babies and young people. MyMama's Paediatric First Aid course is a standalone course that you can take without having previous first aid training, and it covers the techniques from infants to adult-sized kids or family members.
It has been designed with parents and caregivers in mind with the aim of teaching you how to THINK in the case of an emergency, know what to DO, but also understand how to PREVENT common accidents. And we deliver the content in a friendly, fear-free way!
