Rebecca Buttigieg is an industrial engineer by profession, but found her true passion in science communication, proceeding to obtain a car seat safety certification in the UK to be able to advise parents and parents-to-be on the best practices surrounding the purchase, installation and use of infant and child car seats.
When her first child was a year old and needed his second car seat, she started to do some research and was horrified to find out how many safety mistakes she was making! She started studying car seat safety, bought her son the safest car seat she could find, and started sharing her new knowledge with other mothers. Rebecca spent several years as a volunteer car seat safety advisor in a UK car seat safety Facebook support group, and travelled to the UK to receive an IOSH-accredited qualification in car seat safety.
