Nadia Camilleri
YOGA THERAPIST
Â
The first yoga therapist in training who will be IAYT- certified (International Association of Yoga Therapy) in Malta, Nadia is currently undergoing rigorous training from the Yoga Therapy Institute in the Netherlands. This followed her comprehensive Yoga Alliance-Registered 200-hour teacher training in Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga which she completed in India in 2017. Nadia also completed her kids’ yoga teacher training with the renowned Cayetana Rodenas from Spain.
In addition to her yoga pursuits, Nadia holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (Hons) from the University of Malta. Having graduated in 2007, her academic focus included a study on the lived experiences of individuals with facial disfigurement in Malta.
In 2013, Nadia's dedication to academic excellence culminated in her graduation with distinction from her Masters in HR Management and Business. Attending Aston University in Birmingham, UK, she was honoured with the prestigious BGS award recognizing her as a high achiever in her field.
Nadia established her long-standing career working in high-positions within the HR field. This background uniquely positions her to address a wide range of issues faced by individuals, ranging from workplace-related challenges such as sedentary lifestyles or heavy-lifting concerns to more complex issues like addiction and terminal health conditions.
Her experience as a former National Team member of gymnastics combined with her current training provides her with a holistic understanding, from a biopsychosocial perspective, of the challenges encountered by athletes. This background enriches her approach to yoga therapy, allowing her to tailor interventions that address the unique needs of athletes and non-athletes alike.
To date, Nadia has worked with diverse clients in yoga therapy, including individuals grappling with conditions as Crohn’s disease, fibromyalgia, substance rehabilitation, musculoskeletal injuries, trauma, epilepsy, and anxiety, among others. The feedback from her clients is consistently positive, underscoring her commitment to providing effective and compassionate support on their healing journeys.
